Puulga is a tool for resellers, called Nenis in México, women who sell second hand and handmade products through social media.

Context

In Mexico there is a very large and organized community of women who sell second-hand and handmade products as micro-entrepreneurs through social media, mainly Facebook Groups and Instagram.

With this they sustain their household economy, and for most of them, that’s the only money income they have.

The problems

Time waste

When they want to sell something, Nenis have to post the same thing in all channels (Ig, Fb, etc.) and answer queries in each channel. This consumes tons of their time.

Many communication channels

They struggle to manage and keep track of all the messages they get through Instagram, Facebook, Whatsapp, TikTok, etc.

Hard to show full inventory

They need to repost their products constantly in social media to sell them, and they cannot indicate when they run out of stock or make changes in their inventory.

The goal

Create an app that gives them the tools to manage all their orders in a more organized way, centralizing communication and inventory management, in addition to providing tools to save time in the process of posting products on social networks.

Quotes from real users

Quotes from real users

"When I make deliveries personally, sometimes the buyer doesn’t show up, and that frustrates me a lot."

"I started selling because I had a lot of unused clothes, and now, with the pandemic, it's a good way to generate income."

"We deliver personally at train stations to make it safer, but you can never be too careful."

"People ask questions just to ask and don’t actually read the descriptions."

"It’s very unpleasant having to choose between buyers when they want the same thing. You end up on bad terms with the one you don’t sell to, and I also waste time analyzing the profiles."

"I would like to have something that keeps the records for me. I'm very disorganised."

Information Architecture

I did a graphic to identify the problematic areas in the information architecture and marked them with the assigned icon according to the pain point it involves.

Solution ideas

Posting & Sharing

From Puulga, they can centralize the posting and just share their products from Puulga in their different social media accounts.

Communication

The solution we found was to bring at least the communication for their active orders to Puulga and to display in their profile the most asked information such as payment methods, delivery and location.

Inventory & Registers

They upload each of their products to their profile with the description and they count on automated stock, sales analytics, alerts and the abbility to edit their personal information and products in a quick and frictionless way.

Designing the new features

I made a few drafts and digital wireframes and voted for the best solutions within the team.
